Results is an advocacy nonprofit that believes in mobilizing everyday people (our volunteers) to generate the political will to end extreme poverty in low-and middle-income countries. We focus our work on global health, access to quality education and economic opportunities. We direct our energy and efforts at government decision makers like party leaders, Members of Parliament and senators because they have the power to improve policies and make the monetary investments needed to end extreme poverty. We also raise awareness by writing letters to the editor (LTEs) and op-eds, using social media, fundraising and more. Oftentimes the first step is putting these issues on the radar — and keeping the pressure on. It might seem like a small step, but it all adds up into impact. commitment: 1 year minimum, 1-2 hours per week on average support structure: Volunteers (virtually) meet in local groups on a monthly basis and rely on their group leader(s) for guidance. Attending other virtual calls and webinars led by Results staff is recommended. Nous concentrons notre travail sur la santé mondiale, l’accès à une éducation de qualité et l’inclusion économique. Nous concentrons notre énergie et nos efforts à mobiliser les décideurs et décideuses politiques comme les chef.fe.s de partis, député.es, sénateurs et sénatrices, car ils et elles détiennent le pouvoir d’améliorer les politiques et de faire les investissements requis pour éradiquer l’extrême pauvreté. Nous faisons aussi de la sensibilisation en écrivant des lettres ouvertes aux journaux, en utilisant les médias sociaux, en collectant des fonds et bien plus. Souvent, la première étape est d’attirer l’attention sur ces enjeux et de les faire connaître — et de maintenir la pression. Volunteer with family literacy programs and events that encourage parents and children to learn together. The various components of this program support literacy development for the entire family and encourages parents and children to learn together. Volunteers work collaboratively with the Family Literacy Coordinator to help support the relationship between caregivers and children by modeling that literacy is not limited to reading and writing. Foundations Learning is offering a free, year-round Income Tax Clinic in partnership with the CRA’s Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP), and we are recruiting Volunteer Tax Preparers. As a Volunteer Tax Preparer, you will complete income tax returns for low-income Saskatchewan residents with simple tax situations. This helps them get the benefits and tax credit they may be entitled to. Our tax clinic will be offered both in person and virtually. You can choose to volunteer in person at a tax clinic or virtually by completing income tax returns online, or both!. You have the option to volunteer only during the tax season (March-April), or throughout the year. No accounting experience is required. Volunteers receive free in-person training and online resources provided by the CRA, as well as additional training and ongoing support from Foundations Learning. Duties and Responsibilities: Complete income tax returns following CRA guidelines Use EFILE tax preparation software to file tax returns electronically Maintain strict confidentiality on all taxpayer information Verify taxpayer identity by checking photo ID prior to filing Call the CVITP dedicated help line for any questions about income tax, using EFILE, and the UFile CVITP tax software Communicate issues, questions, or concerns with the Tax Clinic Coordinator Qualifications: No accounting experience required Must have a valid Social Insurance Number Must have filed your own taxes in Canada at least once Training and software will be provided

Client service volunteers provide support to the client and their families in many ways and are part of the total team effort that is invaluable in hospice care. An optimum environment for a person with a terminal ill ness can only be achieved if there is time to listen, to understand, and to care. This is an integral part of what a volunteer does.The role of the volunteer is to be of assistance to anyone who may need it... the client, the family, or other members of the team. They are there to provide emotional support, practical help, and companionship. They have the time tolisten, to understand, and to care for the client and others. The volunteer does not see the client every day, so they bring a certain freshness and vitality which can be a great support to the care providers who may be continuously close to their loved one who is dying.Activity examples: Going for walks, listening to music, errand running, playing crib, providing rides to appointments and much more. Time commitment: 4 hours / week. We are in particular need of volunteers who are available during the weekdays.
