We’ll support you every step of the way with training, mentorship, and opportunities to find the volunteer role that fits you best.Foundations Learning has youth volunteer opportunities in our Children, Family, and Financial Literacy program areas. We recommend that youth volunteers take training in each of the program areas to find the volunteer opportunity within these that suits you and your community best. Volunteer opportunities are available throughout Saskatchewan.You will also have access to additional professional and personal development opportunities. These opportunities will be counted towards your total volunteer hours, and costs, including provincial travel and accommodation, will be covered by Foundations Learning.

Seeking passionate female volunteers for a one day inspiring event to help uplift and empower the next generation of confident young women! Are you passionate about female empowerment and have a desire to help build the next generation of confident young women? The BeaYOUtiful Foundation, a registered Canadian Charity, is bringing the Inspired By Her Conference to Saskatoon for the very first time! This conference is dedicated to inspiring young girls to feel confident in themselves as well as help them to define their self-worth. The day will consist of three rotating workshops focused on building confidence through movement, conversation and mentorship.YOUR ROLE: Be a mentor for a day! Our volunteers will be paired up with 2-3 young girls from the community and be their "Soul Sister” during the event. We do this by advancing community advocacy, education, and awareness; facilitating access to non-medical equipment; and supporting or co-creating community-based health initiatives. Our work places particular emphasis on individuals living with chronic health conditions, and our primary focus communities are rural residents, Indigenous Peoples, and newcomers to Saskatchewan.The RoleAs Board Member for our Indigenous Health Initiative, you will play a central role in guiding the development, direction, and community relationships that shape this initiative. Client service volunteers provide support to the client and their families in many ways and are part of the total team effort that is invaluable in hospice care. An optimum environment for a person with a terminal ill ness can only be achieved if there is time to listen, to understand, and to care. This is an integral part of what a volunteer does.The role of the volunteer is to be of assistance to anyone who may need it... the client, the family, or other members of the team. They are there to provide emotional support, practical help, and companionship. They have the time tolisten, to understand, and to care for the client and others. The volunteer does not see the client every day, so they bring a certain freshness and vitality which can be a great support to the care providers who may be continuously close to their loved one who is dying.Activity examples: Going for walks, listening to music, errand running, playing crib, providing rides to appointments and much more. Time commitment: 4 hours / week. We are in particular need of volunteers who are available during the weekdays.
