SaskAbilities offers vocational, rehabilitation, and recreational services across Saskatchewan. Guided by the vision of working together to build inclusive communities for people of all abilities, SaskAbilities supports people experiencing disability through programs and services that enhance their lives. Through Vocational Services, individuals experiencing disability overcome barriers to employment. Rehabilitation Services help individuals improve their independence, while Recreational Services support children, youth, and adults to reconnect with and participate in their communities. A comprehensive range of programs and services is delivered province-wide through SaskAbilities’ network. The Saskatoon Branch offers vocational programs for adults experiencing disability and recreational programs for children, youth, and adults experiencing disability. In delivering these services, SaskAbilities treats people with respect, honesty, and compassion; provides client-centred, goal-oriented, and accountable programs and services; and values teamwork, excellence, and innovation.

We are a Vision Impaired/Blind Curling League in Saskatoon we are a passionate, fun-loving group of curlers. We do need volunteers to help line-up curlers, sweeping, and other duties to maybe coach or help where ever is needed. We have been curling as this group for 4 years that have done numerous fundraisers, BBQ'S and events to promote our League. We curl at the CN Curling Club on Thursdays from 6:30pm - 8:30pm. All volunteers are very welcome. We look forward to meeting people to join us.

The Rose Parade, also commonly known as the Rose Bowl Parade, is the highlight of the annual Tournament of Roses that greets the new year in Pasadena every year since way back in 1890. The Rose Parade is a lively, loud and colourful parade involving dozens of floats, marching bands and equestrian units, and is watched by a huge audience, both on the city streets and also on televison and online via the increasingly popular and free live stream, which is back once again for the 2024 event, which will be the 135th year this fabulous event has taken place. The formation area for participants is in front of Tournament House, and then the start point is at the corner of Green Street and Orange Grove Boulevard. The parade then moves north on Orange Grove before turning onto Colorado Boulevard for the main viewing, then onto Sierra Madre Boulevard before the parade ends at Villa Street. There are ticketed seating areas available in reserved grandstand areas on the parade route, and you must have a ticket if you wish to sit in the grandstands. Girl Guides is a catalyst for girls empowering girls. We provide girls age 5-17 with the opportunity to try new experiences, challenge themselves and build their confidence, all within a safe environment. Our volunteers help deliver a unique program that encourages girls to build life skills in outdoor adventure, financial literacy, mental health, advocacy and more. Together, we’re building a better world, by girls.

The Shoebox Project for Women is a registered charity that collects and distributes gift-filled Shoeboxes to local women impacted by homelessness across Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. We aim to foster safe, supportive and inclusive communities by facilitating compassionate gestures of kindness between our supporters and local women experiencing homelessness. For women who have been displaced from their homes and estranged from their families, special occasions can be particularly challenging. Often, women report feeling disconnected from society, invisible and alone.  A Shoebox gift is a powerful reminder for a woman that she has not been forgotten and that she remains a valued and respected member of her community. For those giving gifts, The Shoebox Project is a tangible and creative opportunity to give back directly to someone in your very own community. It’s a small, simple gesture of kindness that has an immediate, positive impact on the woman who receives it.

A free virtual summer program for students who want to gain leadership skills, enhance their communication abilities, learn to be more persuasive, receive valuable experience for post-secondary applications, and get volunteer hours. This program has been provided to over 300 post-secondary students at York University enrolled in Teachers College. We’ve adapted it for all interested youth (ages 15+)! Program dates: July 4th to September 2nd Here’s what you will do: - You will meet with our team on Zoom and get trained on how to teach. - You will teach at least 2 people (e.g. an adult, a senior in your neighbourhood) a skill you have, once or twice a week. It could be technology skills, English skills or something else. - You will continue to meet with our team on Zoom 2-3 times a week. You’ll talk about your successes and challenges, and learn new skills. The program is run by a subject-matter expert who has trained over 5,000 students to become amazing elementary and high school teachers.
