The City Park Toy Library is a not-for-profit lending library open to all Saskatoon families. The Toy library houses over 200 good quality toys suitable for children ages 0-5. It is not just a lending library, it is also a place for children to play and for parents/caregivers to visit.
First Tee - Prairies is a youth development program offered by Golf Canada that introduces the game of golf and its inherent values to young people. Through after school and in school programs, we help shape the lives of young people from all walks of life by reinforcing values like integrity, respect and perseverance through the game of golf.
Our mission is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, promote life-enhancing values and healthy choices through the game of golf.
Girl Guides is a catalyst for girls empowering girls. We provide girls age 5-17 with the opportunity to try new experiences, challenge themselves and build their confidence, all within a safe environment. Our volunteers help deliver a unique program that encourages girls to build life skills in outdoor adventure, financial literacy, mental health, advocacy and more. Together, we’re building a better world, by girls.
Girl Guides of Canada is looking for Unit Guiders in Saskatoon.
We empower young girls and women to be everything they want to be, and as a volunteer, you will help make that happen! Our volunteers support girls as they build confidence, develop new skills and become leaders in their communities.
As part of a unit’s leadership team, you’ll facilitate fun and engaging program activities, like scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, outdoor exploration, games and more. No experience is necessary, all training and resources are provided.
You can choose to work with a specific branches: Sparks (age 5-6), Embers (age 7-8), Guides (age 9-11), Pathfinders (age 12-14) or Rangers (age 15-17). We have units in most neighborhoods, so you'll be matched with one close by to your home or work, that meets on a day you are available.
Volunteers commit to 3 hours per week for unit meetings plus additional hours, when required, for trips and events.

Gymnastics Saskatchewan is the provincial sport body which governs artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, trampoline gymnastics and acrobatic gymnastics sports in the province of Saskatchewan. We were incorporated in 1975 and are active members of Sask Sport and Gymnastics Canada. Gymnastics Saskatchewan provides high-quality, safe, inclusive and positive opportunities for the growth, development and enjoyment of gymnastics in Saskatchewan.

Lakewood Soccer is currently a Canada Soccer Quality Soccer Provider licensed Soccer Club located in Saskatoon. Lakewood is responsible for organizing youth soccer programs and development in what is called "Zone 4", as defined by Saskatoon Youth Soccer Inc (SYSI).
Marian is a non-profit corporation with a volunteer board of dedicated parents. Membership fees, fundraising, sponsorship, donations and grants are our main sources of income used to support our programs and our sport.
Hosting successful events in Saskatchewan is truly a community effort. This effort of creating “community” and synergy is one that Gymnastics Saskatchewan values and believes is important to our future growth and success. Together Marian Gymnastics Club and Gymnastics Saskatchewan are hosting the Provincial Championships in Saskatoon at the Saskatoon Fieldhouse from May 10th to 12th.
The Saskatchewan Marathon, one of the longest running marathons in Canada.
The first event was run, with only the marathon distance offered, on May 12, 1979. In August, 1979, Saskatoon would be hosting the Western Canada Summer Games. The Saskatoon Road Runners Association (established in 1975) was asked by the organizers of the 1979 Western Canada Summer Games to organize an event with two purposes. First, the event would be a test run of the marathon event of the Games. Secondly, the event would act as a qualifier for three Saskatchewan residents, making them eligible to run the WCSG event on August 15.
The Saskatchewan Rattlers are a men's professional basketball team a part of the Canadian Elite Basketball league (CEBL). The Rattlers are one of ten franchises across the country playing from May to August at the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon.

The Rose Parade, also commonly known as the Rose Bowl Parade, is the highlight of the annual Tournament of Roses that greets the new year in Pasadena every year since way back in 1890. The Rose Parade is a lively, loud and colourful parade involving dozens of floats, marching bands and equestrian units, and is watched by a huge audience, both on the city streets and also on televison and online via the increasingly popular and free live stream, which is back once again for the 2024 event, which will be the 135th year this fabulous event has taken place.

This year's Grand Marshal is Arizona Congresswoman, Gabby Giffords and the theme "Turning the corner" The Rose Bowl college football game, typically starting later on the same day, although sometimes falling on the day before, also forms part of the Tournament or Roses - see how to watch that on TV and online here: Rose Bowl live coverage
Parade Date
As is most common, the Rose Parade usually takes place on 1st January, new year's day itself, however, for 2024 it is scheduled for the 2nd January from 8am to 12 noon to stay in line with the tradition "Never on a Sunday"

The parade predominantly follows the town's main street of Colorado Boulevard, where the main grandstands are located. The formation area for participants is in front of Tournament House, and then the start point is at the corner of Green Street and Orange Grove Boulevard. The parade then moves north on Orange Grove before turning onto Colorado Boulevard for the main viewing, then onto Sierra Madre Boulevard before the parade ends at Villa Street.
There are ticketed seating areas available in reserved grandstand areas on the parade route, and you must have a ticket if you wish to sit in the grandstands. Tickets can be reserved via Sharp Seating here.
