To make our voices heard in the legislature, we are mobilizing dedicated volunteers to engage with their communities and gather signatures for our official petition.The RoleAs a Community Canvasser, you are the frontline ambassador for this movement. You will be walking door-to-door in targeted neighborhoods, having meaningful, brief conversations with residents, distributing educational pamphlets, and collecting signatures on our legislature-compliant petition.Key Responsibilities Community Engagement:Approach doors with a friendly, respectful, and professional demeanor to initiate conversations with residents. Education & Advocacy: Clearly and concisely communicate the core message: the urgent need to prioritize voluntary treatment infrastructure over specific legislative measures. Signature Collection:Guide residents through the process of correctly signing the official petition, ensuring all necessary fields are filled out accurately to maintain the validity of every signature. Resource Distribution:Hand out official campaign pamphlets and answer basic questions using the provided volunteer training manual. Material Management:Keep all physical petition pages clean and secure. Strict Deadline Compliance:Ensure all original, signed petition sheets are returned to your regional hub coordinator well before the hard deadline of August 15, 2026What We Are Looking For Excellent Communicators:You are comfortable speaking to strangers, listening actively, and steering conversations respectfully. Passionate Advocates:You care deeply about public health resources, evidence-based reform, and improving community support networks in Saskatchewan. Reliable & Organized: You can follow Standard Operating Procedures, handle official documents with care, and reliably meet campaign deadlines. Operating for over 30 years, the Saskatoon Fringe Festival produced by 25th Street Theatre is an explosive celebration of art, community, and most importantly – THEATRE.Now a global phenomenon, the first Fringe Festival began as an act of theatre rebellion in 1947 when a daring group of artists crashed the Edinburgh International Festival. Performing on the “fringe” of the event, they ignited a revolution of artistic exploration that lives on in every Fringer. Today, over 250 Fringes are celebrated across the globe, pushing boundaries and toasting to the artists who colour outside of the lines. Whilst primarily a Theatre Festival, the Saskatoon Fringe also joyously features an outdoor portion. This street Festival is located in W.E. Results is an advocacy nonprofit that believes in mobilizing everyday people (our volunteers) to generate the political will to end extreme poverty in low-and middle-income countries. We focus our work on global health, access to quality education and economic opportunities. We direct our energy and efforts at government decision makers like party leaders, Members of Parliament and senators because they have the power to improve policies and make the monetary investments needed to end extreme poverty. We also raise awareness by writing letters to the editor (LTEs) and op-eds, using social media, fundraising and more. Oftentimes the first step is putting these issues on the radar — and keeping the pressure on. It might seem like a small step, but it all adds up into impact. commitment: 1 year minimum, 1-2 hours per week on average support structure: Volunteers (virtually) meet in local groups on a monthly basis and rely on their group leader(s) for guidance. We’ll support you every step of the way with training, mentorship, and opportunities to find the volunteer role that fits you best.Foundations Learning has youth volunteer opportunities in our Children, Family, and Financial Literacy program areas. We recommend that youth volunteers take training in each of the program areas to find the volunteer opportunity within these that suits you and your community best. Volunteer opportunities are available throughout Saskatchewan.You will also have access to additional professional and personal development opportunities. These opportunities will be counted towards your total volunteer hours, and costs, including provincial travel and accommodation, will be covered by Foundations Learning.

Foundations Learning is offering a free, year-round Income Tax Clinic in partnership with the CRA’s Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP), and we are recruiting Volunteer Tax Preparers. As a Volunteer Tax Preparer, you will complete income tax returns for low-income Saskatchewan residents with simple tax situations. This helps them get the benefits and tax credit they may be entitled to. Our tax clinic will be offered both in person and virtually. You can choose to volunteer in person at a tax clinic or virtually by completing income tax returns online, or both!. You have the option to volunteer only during the tax season (March-April), or throughout the year. No accounting experience is required. Volunteers receive free in-person training and online resources provided by the CRA, as well as additional training and ongoing support from Foundations Learning. Duties and Responsibilities: Complete income tax returns following CRA guidelines Use EFILE tax preparation software to file tax returns electronically Maintain strict confidentiality on all taxpayer information Verify taxpayer identity by checking photo ID prior to filing Call the CVITP dedicated help line for any questions about income tax, using EFILE, and the UFile CVITP tax software Communicate issues, questions, or concerns with the Tax Clinic Coordinator Qualifications: No accounting experience required Must have a valid Social Insurance Number Must have filed your own taxes in Canada at least once Training and software will be provided
