We are excited to be back at Willows Golf Club on Thursday June 18th, 2026 where golfers will be hitting the links in support of Make-A-Wish Canada. For the 21st year sponsors, volunteers and golfers will be coming out for a day of golf, FUN-raising, supper and awards plus much more. Volunteer with family literacy programs and events that encourage parents and children to learn together. The various components of this program support literacy development for the entire family and encourages parents and children to learn together. Volunteers work collaboratively with the Family Literacy Coordinator to help support the relationship between caregivers and children by modeling that literacy is not limited to reading and writing. Want to make a difference in helping children build their reading skills? Become a Spark volunteer!As a Foundations Learning volunteer, you provide one-to-one support to strengthen children’s reading strategies through our reading program called Spark. Spark Reading Guides attend a 3.5-hour training on reading methods and strategies, and will be provided with all resources needed throughout the program. Volunteers are matched with 2 elementary school students and work one-on-one with each student for 30 minutes, twice per week (Monday-Friday), over 8 weeks. Spark runs four terms a year: fall, winter, spring, and summer.
